He Lost His Father at Six. Now He Builds Skylines.
His father died when he was six. He tutored kids to help pay the bills. Now he builds luxury towers in the UAE.
When Ankur Aggarwal was six years old, his father died. His family's life in Delhi suddenly became much harder.
While still in school, Ankur started tutoring other students to help bring in money.
Years later, he would move to Dubai with almost nothing but his skills with numbers, and build BNW Developments, one of the fastest growing luxury real estate companies in the UAE.
Growing up in Delhi

Ankur Aggarwal was born and raised in Delhi. After his father's death, money was tight, and responsibility came early.
Teaching younger students gave him two things he would use for the rest of his life: discipline and the confidence to explain complicated ideas simply.
Becoming a Chartered Accountant
Ankur studied hard and qualified as a Chartered Accountant, one of India's toughest professional exams.
He spent several years working in finance in India. He learned how companies raise money, manage risk and grow, and how easily debt can sink a business.
The move to Dubai
In 2019, Ankur moved to Dubai. He started in real estate brokerage, helping buyers and investors find properties.
Dubai's property market was growing quickly, and he saw a chance to do more than sell homes. He wanted to build them.
Founding BNW Developments

In 2021, Ankur founded BNW Developments. Instead of competing only in crowded Dubai, the company moved early into Ras Al Khaimah, a neighbouring emirate with beaches, islands and big tourism plans.
BNW became known as one of the largest private developers there, with projects on Al Marjan Island such as Aqua Arc, Pelagia, Tonino Lamborghini Residences and Taj Wellington Mews.
Bollywood actor Vivek Anand Oberoi joined as a co-founder, helping bring attention from Indian investors.
The zero debt approach
Ankur often talks about running BNW with little or no debt, using the discipline he learned as an accountant.
He compares UAE property rules to Indian traditions: just as families check horoscopes before a marriage, he says investors in the UAE check escrow accounts before buying, because buyer money is protected in special accounts.
Expanding into Dubai
BNW launched its first Dubai project, Orvessa Residences by Michel Adam, in Al Furjan.
The company says it manages 12 projects across Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah and plans about 10,000 homes over the coming years, with handovers starting in 2027.
Where he is now
Today, Ankur Aggarwal is founder and chairman of BNW Developments and a regular guest on Indian business podcasts, sharing advice on real estate and wealth.
Why the story matters
Ankur Aggarwal's story shows how early hardship can build strength.
He did not have family money or connections abroad. He had a professional skill, discipline with numbers, and the courage to move countries.
For young builders, the lessons are simple. Master a skill deeply. Go where growth is happening. And protect your business from too much debt.
He counted every rupee as a kid. Now he builds towers.
